Interest in 2-1-1 needs data up 200%

As requests to 2-1-1s have soared during COVID-19, so too has use of 2-1-1 data on community needs. Since the pandemic began, web analytics show there have been nearly one quarter million clicks on 211 Counts, a set of 72 data dashboards reporting daily requests received by 2-1-1s in 33 states. On average, findings showed 1,225 clicks per day on 211 Counts during COVID-19, compared to 402 clicks per day during 2019 and 2020, prior to the pandemic beginning on March 11, 2020. Among individual 2-1-1s (chart at left), the most frequently clicked upon dashboards during the pandemic were in Pennsylvania (28,629 clicks), Tampa, FL (25,095), North Carolina (19,020), Connecticut (17,734) and Missouri (14,712). Because some states have multiple 2-1-1s, we also examined use of dashboards by state (chart at right). Summing across all 2-1-1s within a state, Florida (48,116 clicks), New York (17,320), and Ohio (8,178) ranked 1st, 5th, and 8th, respectively. Time trend analyses covered the dates of January 1, 2019 to September 28, 2020. 2-1-1 and state-specific dashboard analyses covered the dates of March 12, 2020 to September 28, 2020.
