Celebrating our 4th New Year at iHeard St. Louis!

Here’s what was new in 2024:

Centering communityiHeard joined with the St. Louis Partnership for a Healthy Community to support local public health efforts across our region.

Growing again! We added 30 new community members to our weekly survey panel this year and will add another 45 in January and February. Look for iHeard at community events around St. Louis – we want to hear from you!

Wider coverage. iHeard’s weekly survey of St. Louisans is now completed by nearly 200 community members in 51 ZIP codes across the St. Louis region. We’re listening to you! Tell us what you are hearing about health and what you want to know, and we respond.

More health topics. iHeard surveys asked about 82 different health topics this year, covering a wide range of issues from environmental concerns to food safety. Respondents shared hundreds more.

Top story of 2024. On February 1, 2024, iHeard distributed an alert on the inaccurate claim that mRNA vaccines change human DNA. The alert has been viewed over 15,000 times on the Health Communication Research Lab’s website, providing visitors with resources to help community members learn how to judge the accuracy of health information.

National recognition. In December 2024, the larger iHeard network was represented at the White House in recognition of its impact on health equity in local communities across the U.S. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of our iHeard St. Louis community. Thank you!

We are grateful that you are a part of iHeard St. Louis. Together we will create a health-informed St. Louis. Wishing you a wonderful year ahead!
