Neighborhood canvassing

2021-Present

KEY QUESTION
How can canvassing efforts be used to provide factual information about COVID-19 and the Delta variant and increase vaccine confidence?

REACH
Up to 5,000 doorhangers were distributed in in the City of St. Louis through door to door canvassing in August 2021. Doorhangers were two sided with each side targeting a different audience (e.g. vaccinated or unvaccinated, have kids in school or know someone with kids in school). The doorhangers were distributed in specific areas of the City of St. Louis in conjunction by canvassers who were also distributing materials about a local rent-relief program.

EFFECTIVENESS
In August 2021 there was a great deal of confusion and misinformation circulating about COVID-19 and the Delta variant. These materials were developed to communicate factual information, increase vaccine confidence, and encourage community relationships during a challenging time.

CONNECTIONS
This project partnered with the Regional Response team and local government to distribute these materials to communities experiencing challenges with basic needs. These communities also had low vaccination rates, and were disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
